Kristen and Nick’s wedding at the University Club of New York was a breathtaking tribute to Manhattan’s enduring elegance. Located on the prestigious corner of Fifth Avenue and 54th Street, this historic landmark stands as one of the city's most iconic venues, radiating an atmosphere of Gilded Age sophistication. Their celebration was the definition of classic New York luxury, perfectly framed by the club’s majestic architecture and the vibrant, high-fashion energy of Midtown.

The wedding day began within the club’s stately private suites, where Kristen and Nick prepared for the festivities separately. These magnificent rooms, featuring soaring ceilings and massive windows that overlook the heart of Fifth Avenue, are truly a photographer’s dream. The natural light pouring into the suites provided a luminous setting for capturing refined getting-ready portraits.

From the delicate lace of Kristen’s gown to the crisp lines of Nick’s black-tie attire, every detail felt intentional and polished. These quiet morning moments, set against the backdrop of the club's historic hotel quarters, set a serene and sophisticated tone for the grand events to follow.

Portraits in the Iconic Library, Rooftop, and Building

Following their beautiful ceremony, we explored the many breathtaking portrait locations throughout the club’s palatial interior. We spent time in the legendary Main Library, a space that feels like stepping back in time with its floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, arched ceilings, and intricate murals.

As a luxury NYC wedding photographer, I find that the University Club offers a level of architectural depth that is rare to find. We utilized the grand marble staircases and the velvet-walled lounges to create a gallery of portraits that felt like editorial art. We even stepped just outside the club’s massive bronze doors to capture the couple against the iconic limestone exterior, leaning into the quintessential, fast-paced New York City aesthetic that they love so much.

An Elegant Reception in the Main Dining Room

The evening transitioned into a spectacular reception in the Main Dining Room, arguably one of the most impressive ballrooms in all of Manhattan. With its 45-foot ceilings, ornate gold-leaf detailing, and glittering chandeliers, the space managed to feel both incredibly grand and remarkably intimate once filled with the warmth of their family and friends.

The night was a whirlwind of heartfelt toasts, a decadent multi-course dinner, and high-energy dancing that lasted well into the early morning hours. Every moment was a testament to Kristen and Nick’s style and their deep connection to the city.
