When it comes to weddings in the heart of New York City, few venues can compare to the timeless charm and enchanting beauty of Tavern on the Green. Nestled in Central Park, this iconic restaurant captivates guests with its rich history, lush surroundings, and impeccable service and food—and it was the perfect setting for Rebecca and Kevin’s May wedding. From their springtime Central Park portraits to their stunningly lush reception, every part of the day felt elegant, romantic, and unmistakably New York. If you’re considering a wedding at Tavern on the Green (or one of the other one-of-a-kind wedding venues around NYC), I hope you feel as inspired by this wedding day as I do. It’s a celebration I could relive over and over again.
Wedding Prep at the Lotte New York Palace
Bridal prep with Rebecca at the Lotte New York Palace felt effortlessly elegant from the moment we arrived. The soft morning light poured into her suite as final touches were made, setting the perfect tone for a calm, joyful start to the day. One of the highlights was stepping into the iconic Lotte New York Palace Courtyard for portraits—an unmistakable slice of classic New York tucked away in the heart of the city. With its grand arches, fountain, and timeless architecture, the courtyard offered a romantic, old-world backdrop that elevated every photo and made Rebecca’s bridal portraits feel truly cinematic and unforgettable.
Beekman Place Groom Portraits
Kevin’s morning began in the quiet elegance of his Beekman Place apartment, a tucked-away pocket of Manhattan that feels worlds apart from the city’s usual rush. Soft natural light poured through the windows as he buttoned his shirt and shared a few laughs with his closest friends, creating a calm start to the day. The intimate setting made it easy to focus on the meaningful details—the finishing touches of his look, the candid moments of reflection, and the excitement building for what was ahead. Photographing Kevin getting ready in this classic New York apartment felt timeless and personal, perfectly setting the tone for a day rooted in both style and genuine emotion.
St. Paul The Apostle Wedding Ceremony
Rebecca and Kevin’s wedding ceremony at St. Paul the Apostle was nothing short of iconic. Set against the grandeur of one of New York City’s most breathtaking churches, their vows felt timeless and deeply meaningful, surrounded by soaring architecture and an atmosphere of reverence and romance. As the ceremony concluded, the moment everyone had been waiting for unfolded—Rebecca and Kevin stepped out of the church to cheers and celebration before slipping into a classic NYC yellow cab, creating the ultimate just-married moment.
Central Park Wedding Portraits
Photographing Rebecca and Kevin in their classic NYC yellow cab on the way to Central Park was one of those quintessential New York moments that never gets old. Tucked into the backseat, still glowing from their ceremony, they soaked in the energy of the city as it buzzed around them—horns honking, pedestrians cheering, and spring sunlight pouring through the windows. Rebecca’s gorgeous ballgown filled the cab with layers of elegance, creating a beautiful contrast against the gritty, fast-paced streets of Manhattan. These in-between moments, candid and joyful, perfectly captured the excitement of just-married bliss and set the tone for their romantic Central Park portraits to come.
Central Park Wedding Portraits
With its lush spring foliage, iconic monuments, and majestic architecture, Central Park was the perfect backdrop for Rebecca and Kevin’s wedding portraits during the beautiful month of May. Rebecca wore a gorgeous ballgown that felt both timeless and romantic, pairing effortlessly with the classic elegance of the park, while Kevin and his groomsmen looked sharp in classic black suits. Their wedding party complemented the setting beautifully, adding to the soft, refined feel of the portraits. We explored several of Central Park’s most scenic locations, and the excitement and joy from Rebecca, Kevin, and their entire wedding party was palpable. Before we knew it, it was time to head to their celebration at Tavern on the Green.

Located in the heart of Central Park, this historic landmark is known for “making memories that last for decades,” and the moment you step through its grand entrance, you understand why. The space felt especially romantic adorned in soft peach, pink, and green tones that complemented the lush spring surroundings beautifully. Dancing Under the Stars in Central Park
As the evening progresses, the newlyweds and their guests take to the dance floor, creating memories that will last a lifetime. On top of the wedding being absolutely beautiful from corner to corner, there was so much love and joy radiating from every surface. The dance floor was packed all night long. When I asked Liza and Pete what their favorite part of the wedding planning process was, they both loved walking through the venue with the venue coordinators and talking about their vision for the day. I loved watching their vision come to life today! So happy for the new Mr and Mrs!
Congratulations, Rebecca & Kevin!
Your wedding felt iconic, and I am so happy for you both!
