One of my favorite aspects of photographing weddings at The Ridgewood Country Club is the variety of portrait locations available throughout the property. The sweeping fairways, mature trees, charming clubhouse, and beautiful evening light create a timeless backdrop for wedding photographs in every season. Whether capturing intimate newlywed portraits at sunset or documenting the excitement of the celebration inside the ballroom, every corner of the venue photographs beautifully, making it one of my favorite Bergen County wedding venues.
A First Look Before Their Church Ceremony
Meghan and Matt chose to share a private first look before heading to St. Catharine's Church for their ceremony, and it was one of the best decisions they made for their wedding day timeline.
Their first look gave them a quiet moment together before the excitement of the day unfolded, allowing them to truly soak in the significance of the moment without hundreds of guests watching. It also allowed us to capture the majority of their wedding portraits—including romantic couple portraits, wedding party photos, and immediate family portraits—before the ceremony.
One of the biggest advantages of scheduling a first look is that couples spend significantly more time celebrating with their guests after the ceremony rather than taking photographs. Meghan and Matt were able to enjoy cocktail hour together while still receiving an extensive collection of beautiful portraits throughout the day.

Following their first look, everyone made their way to St. Catharine's Church in Glen Rock, where Meghan and Matt exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. Before returning to The Ridgewood Country Club, the newlyweds made one special stop to reunite with their beloved pup for a few family portraits—a sweet moment that made the day even more memorable.

One of my favorite moments from the day happened just before cocktail hour. The evening sunlight settled perfectly across the rolling fairways of The Ridgewood Country Club, creating the most beautiful golden glow for portraits. We slipped away for a few quiet minutes to capture newlywed portraits surrounded by the lush greens and expansive landscape that make this venue so iconic.
Golden hour is always worth prioritizing on a wedding day, and these portraits became some of the most romantic images from Meghan and Matt's gallery. Afterward, they joined their guests for an outdoor cocktail hour, where they were able to relax, celebrate, and enjoy every moment of the evening.

A Fun Outfit Change for the Dance Floor
One of my favorite reception trends is when brides change into a second look for dancing, and Meghan absolutely nailed it. After dinner, she changed into a chic short party dress that allowed her to dance comfortably while still looking effortlessly stylish. The outfit change instantly brought even more excitement to the dance floor, and from that point on, the celebration never slowed down. Guests packed the dance floor all night long, singing, dancing, and celebrating every moment with the newlyweds.
It's a perfect reminder that your wedding attire can be both elegant and practical, and a second reception dress is a wonderful way to transition from formal portraits to an unforgettable party.
