Cassidy and Max's wedding was one of those days that felt unforgettable from beginning to end and not just because they were getting married. Their celebration happened to fall on the night the New York Knicks won their first NBA championship since 1973, giving an already incredible New York City wedding an absolutely unforgettable backdrop.

One of my favorite things about photographing a wedding at The St. Regis is being able to step outside and immediately be immersed in New York City. Located just steps from Central Park and Fifth Avenue, the hotel gives couples the opportunity to create portraits that feel timeless while still capturing the energy of Manhattan.

Cassidy and Max embraced that New York energy completely. Their portraits felt effortlessly elegant, with the city providing the perfect backdrop for a couple who looked every bit like they belonged in Manhattan. There is something so special about wedding portraits in NYC. The architecture, the taxis, the sidewalks, the people passing by—it all becomes part of the story.

The ceremony was intimate, emotional, and filled with so much love. Surrounded by their family and friends, Cassidy and Max exchanged vows before beginning the celebration they had been looking forward to for so long.

After the ceremony, the celebration continued with an incredible reception filled with beautiful details, heartfelt speeches, incredible food, and a dance floor that stayed packed.

The St. Regis has such a timeless approach to entertaining, and Cassidy and Max's reception felt perfectly at home in the space. Elegant without feeling overly formal, glamorous without losing the warmth of the celebration, it was exactly the kind of New York wedding I love photographing. As if getting married in New York City wasn't exciting enough, Cassidy and Max's wedding happened the same night the New York Knicks won the NBA championship.

The energy in Manhattan that night was absolutely electric. Somewhere between champagne toasts, packed dance floors, and celebrating with their favorite people, Cassidy and Max were getting married in the middle of one of the biggest nights New York City had seen in decades. Talk about a wedding date you will never forget.

Wedding Reception Outfit Change

For the reception, Cassidy traded her wedding look for a gorgeous short dress with a perfectly suited jacket for the night: a vintage Knicks jacket. It was such a fun and personal nod to the city, especially on the night the Knicks won the championship. The unexpected outfit change gave us the chance to capture a completely different side of Cassidy, playful, stylish, and ready to celebrate. It was the perfect look for an unforgettable New York City night.
